J.PARK (Jong-Kyu Park, 박종규) was born in 1966 and currently lives and works in Daegu, South Korea. He studied painting at Keimyung University and graduated from Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, Paris. He participated in numerous solo/group exhibitions including the Armory Show, New York (2018); Youngeun Museum (2018); Ben Brown Fine Arts, Hong Kong (2017); Indang Museum in Daegu, Korea (2017); Art Basel Hong Kong (2017); Cyan Museum of Art in Yeongcheon, Korea (2017); Triumph Gallery in Moscow, Russia (2016); Leeahn Gallery, Seoul, Korea (2016); Gwangju Biennale in Gwangju, Korea (2013); Daegu Art Museum in Daegu, Korea (2011) and among others.

J.PARK’s work is united by his unique incorporation of digital imagery and the overturn of dimensions is always the major context of PARK’s practice. The artist has divided his concepts and worked under a specific theme each year: Encoding (2015), Maze of Onlookers (2016), and Embodiment (2017). He utilizes these concepts with the array of media, such as paintings, installations, photographs, and videos to showcase his artistic and visionary experiments to the audience. In the paintings, PARK reveals his meticulous attention to detail and through the video installations, he shows his dedication to exploring contemporary social issues such as mass surveillance.
